Watson Williams Elementary first graders recently welcomed scientists from the Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) to celebrate the conclusion of National Chemistry Week with a hands-on science experience.
Now in its fifth year, the visit has become an annual tradition, providing students with the opportunity to meet professional scientists, explore scientific concepts and participate in an engaging experiment alongside MMRI staff.
Miss Mancuso highlighted the importance of the annual visit in celebrating science and introducing students to potential career paths at an early age. She noted that interacting with professional scientists and participating in hands-on experiments helps spark curiosity, build excitement about learning and expose students to future opportunities in the field of science.
Through experiences like this, Watson Williams students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop an appreciation for science and discover the many possibilities available through STEM education.
Thank you to the MMRI scientists for continuing this wonderful tradition and providing our students with an engaging opportunity to explore the world of science!
