This month our Proctor NJROTC cadets had the incredible opportunity to visit and stay overnight aboard the historic USS Slater in Albany. Throughout the trip, cadets explored the ship, learned about its rich history and gained a deeper appreciation for the sailors who once served aboard it. Although the weather was hot at the start, the excitement, teamwork and positive attitude of our cadets made the experience unforgettable.
From touring the ship’s many compartments to spending the night on board, every moment was filled with learning, adventure and camaraderie. This trip not only strengthened our knowledge of naval history but also reinforced the leadership, discipline and teamwork that define our unit. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the USS Slater staff for their hospitality and for providing such an amazing educational experience. Our cadets had an absolute blast on this adventure and left feeling inspired and proud to be part of Proctor NJROTC!
